Thoughts, ponderings, ideas and topics (hot or not) related to, but not restricted to, theatre, acting, directing, narrating and other such BS.
So tomorrow begins the 48 hours of sleep deprivation and creativity known as the 48 Hour Film Project. I am working with a group as a writer so my contribution starts tomorrow evening after we get our genre. I'm nervous and excited and have no idea what to expect.
If you've never heard of this, it goes something like this.
Production teams choose a genre, a character's name, a prop and a line of dialog at random. They then have 48 hours to create a 4-7 minute film that incorporates all of those things from the writing of the script to the filming of the scenes to post production.
I imagine with so little time will come very little sleep. Although my involvement may not go beyond the initial creative flurry happening tomorrow night as we write our script. I'm way too used to working for live theatre. This will definitely take me out of my comfort zone.
Anyway, wish me luck
I will be appearing in Hobnob Theatre's production of A Midsummer's Night Dream as Nick Bottom. We will be doing it at Preston Park in Butler in various locations, or so I'm told. The idea is to have different sets at different locations and the audience follows along as the play progresses. Sounds interesting. I have no idea how this is going to work but I am always game for an adventure.
My play, Sherlock Holmes and the Sign of Four, has gone through a table reading and a couple of revisions and is now in the rehearsal stage. I have cast the show with some promising and wonderful people and I can't wait to see it come together.
This will be the first time I will be working with a script I can re-write at will.
Show opens in May, so we better get to it.
Stage Manager - Kaleigh Ruiz
We've set a time for the production. My first literary adaptation will go on stage at the Comtra on May 2, 2013 and run for three weekends.
This is very exciting. I have the entire script complete and I'm working on polishing.
I'll need lots of guys, several women and a couple kids, so if you're interested in auditioning, come on out. Auditions are in March. I'll post more later.
Well, I'm way remiss in posting this, but I am appearing in Comtra Theatre's current production of Spamalot as Sir Robin, and others.
The show is running for two more weekends until November 9th. If you're interested in seeing it, you can get more information and make reservations at Comtraplayers.com.
